I am going to upgrade from Vandoren B46 to a Custom made mouthpieces soon. I am very new to custom made mouthpieces and never heard how each one sounds like. Before I decide to order some, which is pretty tiredsome work, i'd like to hear some sound comparisons of Greg Smith's Kaspar, Chedeville, San Francisco, Pyrne, etc, how each sound differently from the others, maybe descriptions of sound?

Andre you should definitly consider some of gregory smith's mouthpieces. His Kaspers, and his chedeville mouthpieces are great, and he will send you several to try out. But in addition to greg smith I highly recommend the Richard Hawkins mouthpieces. Right now I currently use one of his customs and it is by far the best mouthpiece I have ever played on, the projection is great, you are able to articulate smoothly, it has a very resistant feel which I requested and it also produces a beautiful warm sound. He will also send you several to try out, he will even customize it to your needs, and he also makes chedeville mouthpiece that I think are great to.
Hey the choices are almost endless
Good clarineting

Don't forget to try and get into contact with Robert Scott. He makes some great mouthpieces, and just in case money is an option, they are fairly prices (around 80 dollars). I use a 36108 faced mouthpiece, and plan on asking him to send down (he's from Michigan, I'm from Texas) several that have similar facings for the set of Vintages I'm buying in early August. He makes great barrels too, custom length and available in two bores (for about 40 a piece). It's a great setup I've loved playing on since I was a Junior in HS. Have fun, and I hope you get some good information on what you're looking for!

Oh yeah, I do heartily agree with Lee, there are so many options out there, try what you can, many custom makers are flexible with a try-before-buy mpc deal. Get your hands on some good moutpieces and compare.

The whole point of having a custom-made mouthpiece is to be present when it is custom made for you. So the best thing you can do is find a way to get to the maker you choose. Otherwise, you should get several from a maker (such as the excellent Greg Smith) so you can choose one outstanding example until you can get there in person and get it fine-tuned.

I love my Richard Hawkins mouthpiece. I play on a Rossi and this mpc was recommended by another Rossi player. As long as we are at it, does anyone know anything about the Ralph Morgan/Benny Goodman commemorative mouthpieces?

Love my Greg Smiths. I'm going to get one from Walter Grabner soon and will report about that.
I hear Greg has a new line of Rosewood mouthpieces that are really nice. I have one of his Grenadilla wood ones and love it.
