Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a surprise!! This is how it went, my teacher plays in this band and orchestra at this college ( which happens to be down the street from my school[I'm an 8th grader]) and she teaches me at the building next door to the "orchestra building",( and my band teacher also plays in that band[he told him about me, too]) i have lessons at the top floor and the college band director's office just happens to be under where I have lessons!! So when he heard me play, he said that I had a really good tone and blah, blah.... He he told my teacher to tell me that I could go to the band!!! ( well, the story is a little linger that that.... but anyways....) ( Oh, by the way, THANK YOU VERY MUCH "SNEEZY PEOPLE". I wouldn't be there if it weren't for you guys. So anyway, what should I do to in that band ( Like listening to the first clarinets... What else???)

Wow - Bb - that's GREAT news, just enjoy your banding - when I was your age in school, I used to look forward to afternoon band practice - it was great fun, and musically it taught me a heck of a lot about "how to get on with others" - not to mention we played some fantastic music.

Cool. That sounds like a lot of fun! You'll get exposed to some good music that way, which will probably encourage you to keep playing and give you a taste of what you can look forward to.

Advice? Anything along the lines of 'do very little talking and a lot of listening' sounds like good advice to me.

Sounds great! When my wife and I started playing in the community band (at the college) our daughter (eigth grader at the time) started going and playing with us. It openned up a whole new world of music for her. More variety, more challenging that what she was exposed to a the local school and no #&%@ marching. We now play in two college bands and love it! Go for it and have fun.

Congrats!
My advice to you as a college student who has been in college bands.... you can't practice the music enough (at least from my experiences we all practice pretty much daily)!
Enjoy your time and learn what you can.
