Thick blanks?

Sorry for the stupid question but...

Earlier on the board there was a question about Rico Grand Concerts and Thick Blank reeds. I want to know who makes the thick blanks? Is it Rico? Are they just like, another from of Grand Concerts, kind of like Hand Selects? Or am I really off base here? Just curious.

Yes, Rico makes Grand Concert Thick Blank reeds, which are pretty much another (thicker) form of Grand Concert Selects--kind of like the relation between Vandoren Traditional and V-12's.

All Grand Concert, La Voz. Rico. rico Royal, Rico Jazz Select, Hemke, Mitchell Lurie, Symmetricut are made by Rico. In addition to Rico there are only really VanDoren, Zonda, Reeds Australia (Vintage) , Marca, Glotin and Selmer who make many single reeds, with the exception of artificial reeds.

VanDoren make V12 and the White/ Black Masters and Reeds Australia make Vintage XL which are both thick blank. No doubt Glotin and Marca also make thick blank reeds also.
