Hey does anybody know where can I get the new soft sided double clarinet case. And do you think it will protect my clarinets well?

I got mine at Woodwind/Brasswind in NYC. It will not give the protection of a hard case, but it is very light in weight.

I bought mine two weeks ago at Instrumental Musical Suppliers in DesPlains, IL. (less than $130.00) The only one in stock, I think. So far, no problems to report and I think I like it. FYI, I removed the Yamaha stick-on labels and discovered that these cases are really products of a company called TECH Traveler that seem to have been redone to accomodate A and Bb clarinets. They may have been originally meant to carry computers--not certain. Some of the inside storage pockets are not practical for use and the outter music storage areas are kind of "tight"--but in general, the resulting clarinet case has storage for two mpcs, four barrels with a small section for miscellaneous junk and is light, protective and smaller than any other I have seen. Absoulutely perfect for airline carry-on and long walks down Michigan Ave to Concert Hall for that CSO gig (in my dreams). Like I said, so far, it is working well for me. I'll reoprt back if there are any major developements--for now, back to the board. Good Clarineting.
