I like my standard fabric BG, great warm and "dark" (by which I define as remembering a Sony recording of Marcellus playing the Mozart Con. amazingly, I'm looking for it btw) and inexpensive.
My two hundreths of a dollar's worth

I did an extensive test of the Revelation and the Super Revelation and decided against either of them. As Dan says, the design doesn't work at all unless tighten it up as much as possible. When it's tight, at least it works, but for me the sould lacks body and I don't get enough feedback through my lips.
My advice: Save your money and use string.
Best regards.

My clarinet prof., Dr. Raphael Sanders, first told me about the BG Super Rev. He was using it at the time and said lots of soloists were using it as well. I tried it and liked it a lot better than the Opera ligature I had been using. As with other things, personal taste is the final test. I don't like the metal ligatures because the sound is too bright. But, I also didn't like the regular BG ligature. The metal plates in the Super were a good compromise. Also, it depends upon your mouthpiece and reed combination.
However, lately I have used the new Varilig ligature and the Rovner Mark III dark.
I've also tried the ligaphone ligature and had interesting results.
Really want to try the shoelace one.
