I really need to know how much a good mouthpiece would cost. I'm going to get one next week. I'd appreciate the info.

How good a mouthpiece are you talking about? The popular Vandoren 5RV and B45 models are quite good mass produced mouthpieces and run about $75 retail or around $55 from mail order houses. There is a pretty good selection of brands and models in this price range and you ought to try before you buy.

Then of course there are the custom mouthpieces. I have no personal experience with them but many people like them. They will (usually) run more.

It depends on what you are looking for. Good commercial mouthpieces run between $50 and $80 with some variances above and below the lines.
However good hand finished mouthpieces usually run $95 up towards $200.

it totally depends on what you're looking for. i agree with the previous post. i know that geneussa's are 75, i think johnston's are 50-ish, hawkins are about 98, greg smith are about 125-50 ish... there's a catergory on the clarinet pages for mouthpiece makers, you could check that out. you should definately try as many as you can before you buy.

From where did you purchase the Gigliotti? They only run about $87-$95 on average from retailors. And i had one on eBayfor $45.

clarinet mouth peices are the price ranges from the previous posts. what I am going to do about a mouth peice is my clarinet teacher knows a guy who works on mouth peices, and you purchase a mouth peice and when he gets to know how you play he will work with the mouth peice to help your sound best fit how you play

That depends. But DO check out Tom Dowling's site (listed under Equipment for Tom Dowling Mouthpieces). He charges something like $25-35 US (including shipping, I think) for a hand-crafted mouthpiece, and I've heard good things about them.
