Hallo to all of you who love the magic of the clarinet.
My name is Pavlin and I am a professional clarinet player from Bulgaria.
This year marks 10 years from the death of the genious Argentinian compozer Astor Piazzolla. I would like to perform his music at a concert in memory of his work. Unfortunately it is almost impossible for me to find arrangements of his pieces for clarinet. I would be very much obliged if you can help me and send me or suggest where I can find some. I would also be glad if we could simply exchange some ideas or get in contact with each other.

Hi Pavlin,
If you enter "Piazzola" without the quotes in the Sheet Music Plus box at the top of this page, you will get over 150 hits. Among those, you will find:
L'Histoire du Tango for Soprano Sax and Piano (also available as a clarinet quartet. I have performed the clarinet quartet version. Great piece.)
Tango Etudes for unaccompanied sax or clarinet. Originally written for flute, I think. Gidon Kremer has recorded these beautifully (IMHO) on violin. I have also heard a flute recording. Technically and musically challenging (again IMHO).
They also show a number of works for small ensembles with violin. If you can come up with a bandoneon player (or, at least, an accordionist), you could transpose the violin parts (or play on a C clarinet, if you have one).

Giora Feidman recorded "ClarinetTango", a CD of Argentine tangos, many by Piazolla, with bandoneonist Roberto Pensera.
His "Magic of the Klezmer" also features the tune "ClarinetTango" (or perhaps it's another tango), and that CD has a companion tune book (in concert key). So you might write to him to see where you can get sheet music or tunebooks for other tangos.

FWIW,
I just looked at my copy of "Magic of the Klezmer" and I don't see any piece with "Tango" in the title. (Though one of the pieces could still be or resemble a tango in style.) In any case, I don't see anything by Piazzolla. Could it be a different recording, Steve?

Jack, you're probably right. I don't have the CD handy to check, but the TUNEBOOK "Magic of the Klezmer" has Clarinetango as the last selection. I think the book and recording are different. I'll have to find my CD and check it. Also, the tune Clarinetango was written by Pansera, not Piazolla.
But on Clarinetango the CD, there are Piazolla tangos, I believe.
