Hi, I play in a jazz quartet and last week we gave a roof-top exposé of our stuff. We played in london and after 0200, we got heckled by some people in apartment blocks. Does anyone have any advice about how to dampen down clarinet and saxophone sound?

Enclose the instrument sounds in a sound-proof room and be more sensitive to your neighbors space.

Try using your noodle, Kieran.
You say, "...after 0200, we got heckled by some people in apartment blocks".
What else did you expect?
I'm surprised they didn't throw you and your 'stuff' off the roof :|

Another vote for "what the **** were you doing playing with your jazz quartet on the roof at 2 AM???" May I ask if you all had a pint too many? ;-)
