Hello,
I am trying to track down a piece for concert band with clarinet solo entitles "Tribute to Artie Shaw" arranged by James Christensen. I found this piece on JW Pepper only to discover it is no longer in print. Help, I was planning to solo on this piece with our local college band.
Thanks,
Jean

Our local technical college has this piece in its music library. I could check with the conductor to see if a loan arrangement could be worked out. Are you certain this is out of print? It doesn't seem that long ago that we read through it--at that time, I thought that it was new. BTW, Jim Christensen used to be our Muni Band conductor until he opted for Disney--he remains a good friend. As an aside, have you considered doing Arties CONCERTO for CLARINET instead?? The University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, has a great arrangement for wind ensemble which they performed on their Japaniese tour with Jack Snavely as soloist. (Tom Dvorak, conductor) Good Clarineting.

Hi, Jean
This tribute piece was published in 1996 by Warner Bros. Inc., and should be available at larger sheet music stores. I got my copy at Stanton's Sheet Music in Columbus, Ohio. They have a 1-800-42-MUSIC phone number. The price listed on the back is $80.00. I hope this helps you. I have performed this piece several times and found it to be rather easy to work up and very enjoyable to perform. Hopes this helps!
