 Pruefer Silver Throat

A friend of mine's parents frequent auctions in the local area and recently picked up a moth eaten Pruefer clarinet from god knows where. I only saw it once so i can't remember any serial numbers but i DO remember the etched logo of Pruefer Silver Throat, there was an "RI" on it too. I assume the Silver Throat referred to the silver lining on the inside of the upper joint, i guess it had something to do with the sound i really have no idea. The pads were in very poor shape so i couldn't play it, also it's not wood, it looks like a brushed plastic finish...pretty convincing too, it fooled me at first glance. Any ideas or suggestions?

i have 2 of these .its made of hard rubber ,in good repair these are very good horns ,too good to be called beginer and not quite good enough to be classivied as pro horns.these are exceptionaly good jazz horns as the coin silver liner gives them a very powerfull sound. in fact i have yet to find a horn that is louder.great big band horn as it really projects. they were sold with leather pads . unfort they have very little value
