Does anyone have any information about this piece?? Does anyone know of any recordings??? It is by G. Meister and arranged by Gustave Langenus. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

A quick search of the internet using Google turned up the following:
Clarinet and Piano:
Charles West, WILSON AUDIOPHILE WCD 9127
Arranged for wind ensemble:
Tokeyo Kosei Wind Ensemble KOCD-4000
Henri Lefebvre, Band of the Garde Republicaine Clarinet Classics CC0005 and CC0020 (a sampler)
Both Wind Ensemble versions appear to be available. Tokeyo and can probably be ordered from one of the sites turned up by Google. The recording by West is almost certainly out of print but may be available from him, directly. I don't know his e-mail address but he used to contribute to the Klarinet list. If you search the Klarinet archive for "Charles West" without the quotes, you will likely find an address that will work. As I recall, he is at Virginia Commonwealth University.

As I remember, the Langenus arrangement was put out by Carl Fischer, Schirmer or some other New York music publisher.
In the 1950s the Selmer company distributed a recording of several solo pieces, including Erwin, done by Ulysses Delecluse of the Paris Conservatory. Long out of print but you may be able to find it through one of the mail order companies specializing in old phonograph records.

The Delecluse recording is on a 10" London LP, LS987. My guess is, if you want a recording with piano, Chuck West's will be easiest to come by. He has, in the past, sold copies of his recordings. He sent me a price list a few years ago (long since lost). The Wilson Audiophile recording was on it. Otherwise, the Clarinet Classics band recording will probably be the easiest to find. Those are widely distributed. (Of course it is a very old recording.)
