Hello all,
I have been enjoying this board for a few weeks now. I love playing the clarinet, and am excited to see soo many others.
Are there any suggestions as to how to decrease physical anxiety when having to perform. The thing is, I am mentally okay and ready but my body isn't. I also suffer from "ibs" or irritable bowel syndrome which makes auditions + etcetera iffy. I have a senior recital coming up in about three weeks and don't want to worry about anything. I know I will have practiced enough, but my body doesn't always listen to my brain. Thanks in advance.
Shari

i know that eating turkey and banannas make you calmer...and don't drink any caffine, or candy to make you hyper. Take deep breaths to keep your heart beating at a steady rate instead of it starting to beat harder and making you get an adrenalyn rush.
Also...and most importantly, be prepared!!! Make sure you know all your music like the back of your hand.
Hope this helped. Good luck!
Gretchen.

I have been using a book called effortless mastery by kenny werner. I have found for me that it really made a huge difference - which I didn't think it would as I don't have any time normally for self help type books!
I see it is on amazon.com and there are customer reviews of it that you can compare
Kind Regards
