R13 in key of A ID questions
Author: Matt Locker

I'm looking at an R13 in key of A. I have the serial number but don't know how to carry that forward to the serial number list. Are the R13-A clarinets numerically intermixed with the regular R13-Bb production? Also, the bell doesn't seem to match the color of the upper/lower joints but has the same markings as the joints. Should this tell me something? Could it be from a different clarinet or is this normal?

Any help is appreciated.
Matt

I believe that you look up the serial number from the same list as the Bb. As far as the bell goes I think that the bells and barels of the R-13 are not matched to the body of the instrument but rather just picked at random from stock barells and bells. That would explain the mitch-match.
