What's good, what's bad? which one do you use?
Does mpc maker consider the reed thickness when they design?

Don't confuse the gradings of reeds as a measure of thickness. Reeds are all made the same then tested for resistance to grade them. The grade you prefer will depend on your m.p. All the players I know use Vandoren, Mitchell Lurie or Sinus although others are available.

In diz' defense, I don't think suggesting a sneezy search is an exclusionary answer or a put-down. Rather, it's letting a (perhaps newer) poster in on one of our secrets--that there's a wealth of material archived here and that he doesn't have to depend on only the (relatively) few responses to a query.

If you are asking about the difference in thickness between what Vandoren calls their "traditional" reed profile and their V-12 (Morre copy) profile--or similar models from other makers--the ultimate answer is "whatever works for you." Neither is better; both types are used successfully throughout the clarinet world.
As to whether mouthpiece makers consider reed thickness in the design of their mouthpieces, perhaps Gregory Smith--a highly respected custom mouthpiece designer/maker--will have time to chime in here. He recommends--if that's the right word--using the V12 type of reed with his mouthpieces. Does he design them that way? Don't know. Mr. Smith?
