Normandy Clarinet age, & wood & E flat cla

I'm 20, my name's Margaret and I've been playing the clarinet for eight years *************************** I realize that you probably are bored with people wondering how old their instruments are, but I have diligently tried to find out on my own. I have a wooden Normandy clarinet that I've been playing for four years. I bought it second hand from an instrument repair place that didn't know it's history, and I've always been curious about it. The only markings on it are a Normandy stamp and Made in France. Other than that there's just the *serial number*, which is 7668. From this, could anyone tell me the year (or range of years) that it would have been made in? I'm also very curious as to the kind of wood it's made out of. I've seen grenadilla and it doesn't look like this. It is a very deep brown, but when you look at it in the light, it has burgundy red streaks in it. It's solid wood, if that helps. Also, what woods have clarinets, in general, ever been made in? ******************************************* I'm also interested in buying an E- flat sopranino clarinet. I played this in high school, but couldn't afford one. Now, I can. I would like to know how much to expect to pay *used* for: -Plastic -Wood, but by a regular manufacturer -Wood, by Buffet I nearly found one in my town, but it had the Albert system :( and I can't play with that key system. Also, where would I look to find such an instrument? I haven't had much luck. Thank you very much, MargaretC
