Why don't you go to:
Jimmy Yan
250 W 54
Room 801
581-9765
He is a very amicable fellow and he works on Stanley Druckers clarinets.

Roberto's Woodwind Repair Shop, 146 West 46th St., (212) 391-1315 has an excellent repairman.
Rod Baltimore's store at 147 West 48th Street (212) 575-1508 is a bit of a dive, but Susan Eberenz does excellent work.
Jimmy Yan has done nice work for me.
I've heard good things about the guy at Woodwind and Brasswind, but I haven't had anything done there.
Best regards.

At the Woodwind and Brasswind in NYC the repairman is Tomoji.
I have had 4 of my clarinets done by him and is work is superior. He is in great demand by not only the NYC players, but from around the country. Thus (like many techs) he has a sizeable waiting list. However, his work is impeccable, extremely precise and well worth the wait.
If you call ahead and ask Jonathon what Tomoji's schedule is like, he will work with you to set up an appointment, and is usually very accomodating.
Highly recommended! ...GBK

Just had my full boehm overhauled by Guy Chadash in Manhattan.
Extremely pleased, he not only did the overhaul stuff, but
also did phenominal work on the intonation. He also custom
turned a barrel to match the mouth piece to the clarinet.
Maybe I am easily impressed, but...he was great. Spent
a lot of time listening to me play, then making a small
adjustment, then patiently repeated until it worked.

I'm a little slow off the dime for this discussion, but no list of NYC repair people would be compete without mentioning Perry Ritter--he's fast, inexpensive, good, honest, no-BS, and does work for lots of the Broadway pit players, jazz guys (I ran into Mike Brecker and Sonny Rollins in his shop, though not on the same day) & has done work for Stanley Drucker & who knows who else. (Oh yeah--ME.) He's been doing my saxes & clarinets for years. Worth a visit!!!!!!
