Hello Yall,
Well, there have been many events in my recent clarinet career, but most recently I attended the iLLinois all state band/orch etc festival. Well, to say the least it was fun. But my seating wasnt so great, at least to my expectations. At first I was disappointed, but then I realized that it was all right because I got to work with players at such great levels. And that the placement didnt completely judge everyones ability level, some have good and bad days, and whatnot. So the only problem with eight out of thirty in the honors band was the previous events in the week. So, I attended the concerto competition that my youth orchestra hosted, i played the mozart (man that concerto is soooo demanding!!), i performed well but not perfect. I get home and then my friend (numer one in the state and the concerto competition runner up) tells me i won. So now then problem was that I would go down state and have to protect a new found reputation. Overall, all this has been a great experience and I realize that if i want to be great in many levels, the practice must brought up a notch and more intense. Well tell me of your experiences at all state and whatnot.
