"Transverse"--???????? It's a normal clarinet with the picture laying on it's side--no big deal. Looks like a good deal, however. I've played this exact model at IMS and liked it better than any other clarinet I have every played. Just can't afford to make another big switch--at least, my wife won't let me. Good Clarineting!!!!!!!!

Then I suppose that chair in the picture is not a special one to sit in while playing that clarinet. And the object the clarinet is attached to is not its special (somewhat large) stand.

Rats! I was sure Brian had found something new.

I wonder, what the seller means by that "flexibility" in tuning. Makes me suspicious.

Seems to be worth a lot, though; Look at what it went for. Is the turning of the picture a subliminal message to bid on it?

David, you might well be on to something here. Maybe the seller could have squeezed out another grand had the picture been turned upside down?!

Huh,huh,....transverse flute....In an old used music history book I had in college, a previous owner had underlined those words and wrote off to the side, "sink pipe with holes." har-de-har
