 Breaking in a Clarinet

Which is the best way to break into a new clarinet? I don't want to cause any damage to the wood by sudden temperature and humidity changes.

The suggestion I've heard just involves slowly increasing the length of time you play on the horn--start with fifteen minutes a day for a week or so, then thiry, forty-five, etc. You may find, if where you live is a very different climate than where you got the horn, that you need to get it readjusted after a while--pads might swell or shrink, causing a few problems. And, as always with wooden horns, don't play it when it's just come in from cold outside, or it'll crack. If at all possible, avoid playing it outside at all. If you're careful with it, though, it'll last you for years, so have fun!
