Everything I'm relaying is heresay.
[Deleted. Hearsay is a bad idea on a public BBoard - it leads to misinformation and rumor.]

Sorry, I misspelled hearsay TWICE, but it's early in the morning, and I have yet to have my cup of coffee.

So, just how does that work in a major orchesta?

Does a conductor just wake up one fine morn, and say to himself that he wants a new clarinet?

Do different orchestas dispose of musicians in diffent ways?

[See post #2. If you don't know the reasons, don't post. Things can get out of hand very quickly!]

You should probably read the Constitution about freedom of speech. See http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/data/constitution/amendment01/06.html for a good beginning.

But, to answer your question, I am not infringing on your right to free speech. You are free to express whatever you want; however, expressing hearsay must be done in a different venue.

Even the question as to whether he is leaving is hearsay. Thanks for the deletions, Mark.

The question itself is not hearsay Chris, the postion for principal clarinet is posted on the Philedelphia Symphony Orchestra website which, by definition, means that the current principal will not be principal in the future. I apologize for any concerns this question has caused. My intentions were purely inquisitive.
