how competitive is the clarinet workshop at tanglewood? how many clarinets do theyaccept? are high school students also competing against college students?

It's VERY competitive... Yes, high school students are competing against college students... when i was there we had something like 20 clarinets in the workshop, maybe a little less.

Last summer there were no college students enrolled at the workshop.

Generally the college students audition for the Tanglewood Music Center fellowship. High School students audition for the Boston University Tanglewood Institute which includes the Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Clarinet (or whatever instrument you play) Workshop.

The Orchestra and Wind Ensemble programs are very competitive. The Clarinet workshop somewhat less so.

When i was there we had 2 college students in the workshop.
