Hi all!
In my last lesson, my teacher and I were discussing etude #18 in the Rose 32. Two measures before the tempo primo (in the meno mosso section) the fourth note in my edition is an f natural. It sounds much better to both of us as an f sharp and I was wondering if any one else had a different edition than carl fisher's and could tell me what it is in theirs and/or what they think it should really be.
thanks!
Leah

Leah...I should have given you a better explanation.

The F# is needed to reinforce the modulation to G minor, which took place in the previous measure. Notice the D major triad in that measure ( V chord of G minor)

The measure that you are asking about also outlines the V7 chord of G minor as well (D F# A C)...GBK

That's funny. I just looked at my (Fischer) edition and found the spot. No f-sharp there, although it really should be. The funniest thing is that I worked on this etude many many years ago. Nothing is pencilled in!!! As I sit here fingering (without a clarinet--it's 11 p.m. and I'm in an apartment), it really feels like f-sharp was the fingering I learned those eons ago...
