Is this piece good? I've heard about this piece a few times and would like to try but never listened a recording of it. Does it sound like classic or jazz? Is it hard? Where am I able to find the sheet music? Thanks.

Go and get a recording of it - I fell in love with it through that way.
There aren't many recordings of it but the one I have is of the NY Phil's Stanley Drucker on the New York Legends Series (Cala). He's fantastic!

Won Kim -
Bernstein wrote his Clarinet Sonata when he was a student. It's a good work and is part of every player's repertoire. It takes some jazz feel and good counting to do the finale, which is in 5/8. If you can play the Weber Concertino, you can play the Bernstein.
Best regards.

another recording is by Eugene Zorro.
FANTASTIC player form Eastman. He was there at the same as Hadcock and Combs. As a soph he sat next to Hasty in the Roch Phil and also finished out his senior requirements. Many, many yrs ago he was my teacher and I understand that while in HS, he was in the Seattle SO.
Gene has done extensive Chamber Music recording and has traveled throughout Europe. Recently, he retired as Clarinet Professor from Western Washington Univ.
