 Embouchure fatigue, puffing cheeks etc.

I've just had a 3 and a half week break from playing the clarinet over Christmas - I'd done a lot of playing right up until then. I'm kind of worried now that I've come back to practising - I've been playing again for 4 days, and my embouchure still keeps collapsing quite regularly - my jaw ends up clamping down. My cheeks have started to puff out as well, after playing for fairly short periods. I assumed my embouchure would just build up its strength again, quickly - I'm doing lots of long tone prctise - I need it to, I need to start practising for concerts and festivalsI've coming up. I usually practise 1.5 to 2 hours and can't manage more than 40 minutes without getting annoyed at my embouchure going. Is this serious - should I be doing anything particular to ease myself back in ? I didn' think I cold really get this out of shape this fast. Can anyone help?
Thanks ,
Richard

I noticed a little puffing of my cheeks a little recently as well, but it only occurred a little on Sunday morning and I have a little bit of a cold virus. I've been playing/practicing pretty consistently lately too. Maybe those germs contributed to the situation? Just a thought.

i too took some time off and noticed how weak my embouchure had become. what i did, was to purposely start my warm ups on a reed strength a half size too hard. then find some reeds gradually decreasing in strength...not neccessarily in #. ya know how you can have a size 3 but its a little on the hard side or soft side...thats what i mean. so i begin my warm up with a strong reed which builds my strength and gradually work down (about 3 reeds) to the "correct" strength and by the time i get there it doesnt feel so tiring. im not making sense, am i?
sorry, i tried. but dont worry, you'll get it back.
