How many of you out there in clarinetville use the Winslow? If so, which post arrangement do you preferr and do any of you use the new posts?

I find that the Winslow doean't really do much for instruments smaller than alto sax. For the saxes and bass clarinet they work great. But they just don't seem to allow enough vibration or something for the smaller reeds.

The Winslow is a great ligature for the clarinet as well. Experiment and vary the pattern you use for clarinet. I think you'll find it will make a difference. I would agree with some mouthpieces and/or reeds the Winslow may shut off the vibrations. Take off some of the rings. In particlular, try just three vertical rings in the center. You might like it. The literature that comes with the ligature also has some good suggestions for positions.
One thing is certain, it is the only ligature - that I have found- that can give you the tightest interface to cut out squeaks or unwanted overtones as the reed becomes more flexible and softer with saliva.
