I refer to a current model delux (?) case where the lining is done in many separate units glued in.
The adhesive at the base of some of the foam partitions is failing on a regular basis, within weeks of use. It is also common for the wrapping of fabric over the partitions to be creased and shoddy in appearance.
Is this happening all over the world or is Selmer just trying to get rid of their duds in New Zealand?
This is just a continuation of a long saga of very poor quality control that I see coming from Selmer.

Not sure about Selmer, but I recently wrote a post about a problem with the BAM double cases here. I checked 5 brand new ones in the shop and they were all the same - coming unglued in different places. Mine was "fixed" (glued back at the points that needed it) and after about a week it's started coming undone. Both my teacher, and another teacher at my university use the Selmer cases and have had no troubles..possibly because they may have got them overseas. I think alot of duds get sent down under.

Forgive my waxing philosophical --
Unfortunately it is a sign of our world society - items are produced not to last or even function properly (the bean counters have a number of non-functional units figured into every model line which are an "acceptable" failure function). If they can make the profit margin increase by skimping on case materials or design then this is rewarded by many companies. With modern technologically advanced materials and manufacturing methods we should have superior products to those in the past - but alas, we accept (except those of us who demand superior products) products of lesser quality as status quo - disposable - or I'll buy a better case on my own.
I do not think that the "lesser's" are dumped Down Under - if anything the marketing people would dump them in the U.S. where "disposable" is a way of life. Many of my international customers demand higher quality products than their U.S. counterparts where price is "king", brand name rather than content is exalted, and quality is a second consideration (for many, not all). This soapbox of mine will never stem this tide but this surge also will never change my commitment to buying and praising quality products.

We've discussed this before on the repair tech bb, but Selmer saxes are one of the most sought after instruments. However, their lack of quality control makes this distinguished instrument run amuck along side the cheap Asian imports. I don't know why the consumer stands for it. Give me a good Yangasawa sax any day over a Selmer.
