bonjor everyone,
Out of curiousity, can someone tell me what exactly the amati clarinet is. I have heard of them once. and it sounds like a horrible instrument, the way the girl that described them to me. I was considering getting one. I have been playing clarinet for 4 years now. And in my freshmen year of high-school, i thought of getting a new clarinet. The amati seemed like a cheap route to go. Does anyone know of a dealer? Or someone that could tell me what the Amati clarinet was....i dont check this often so if someone as aol instant messanger also known as aim. please contact me: Zz2sleepYzZ - although i will try to check back with the replies.
thanks in advance,
Kat

Hi, -
I had long experience with two Amati clarinets. Both were brand new wooden instruments I’ve purchased in 1975. I really hated everything about the first one because it was not properly adjusted and had terrible intonation. Second, Amati Deluxe, was a deferent story. I played that clarinet for 13 years until my graduation from Lithuanian Music Conservatory. Clarinet had descent tone and good intonation. Sure, I can’t compare it to "the big four" instruments, but I can tell you, it was a descent intermediate clarinet.
