PROHASKA mouthpieces, Help!

Can someone provide any information on PROHASKA mouthpieces. Other markings: "steelebonite", P 3 on the table, P, 3, S on the side. Mouthpiece has nice tone but not a lot of volume in comparison with my Vandoren B45, also requires a lot stronger reed than my B45 to test it properly. TIA.

"Steel Ebonite" is a trade name for a proprietary type of hard rubber used by the Woodwind Company. Therefore, "Prohaska" is a stencil name. Woodwind made excellent mouthpieces 40-60 years ago. Their current products are OK, but not quite on that level. I think they make the stock mouthpieces that ship with Leblanc clarinets, or at least the high end models.

I'm not surprised that the mouthpiece is less open than your Vandoren B45, which is maybe the most open "legit" mouthpiece available.

"Steel Ebonite" is also used on Riffault mouthpieces.

I don�t know if it makes any difference but "STEELEBONITE" is inscribed as a single word.
