hi, some of the metal clarinets were made during the war...some are silver plated....i have a regents that i am trying to restore...(i am missing a couple of keys (broke)..there are several different brands out...some are more availible than others...i have not found anyone yet who knows where i can get the keys i need...
i have been playing the clarinet family since 1968 and also have learned, and in the process of learning the rest of the woodwinds....my interest now is really in old/antique horns....some of which are a work of art in themselves....

While I don't know the status of this particular model, metal clarinets were made by the ton for the student and marching band trade in the first half of this century. Their heydey seems to have been from about the mid 1920s to the mid 1940s. After that they fell out of favor but a very few were made as late as the early 1960s. There were also a very few intermediate and pro level instruments made but they are seldom seen as most of the pros were quite conservative and stayed with wood.
The odds are that the Rene Duval was probably a beginner instrument. They come up fairly often on the eBay auction.
As far as your Regent instrument that you are trying to restore, about all you can do is watch the auctions and look for one that has the keys you need. Afterall this instrument has very likely been out of production for 50 years.
