Anna: When I was in high school, the band played The Happy Farmer by Schubert (I believe). That was a neat piece with a lot of clarinet solos.

When I was in high school 25 years ago, we played a piece called "A Northern Legend" that had a relatively easy but pretty clarinet solo. I think it was composed by Alfred Reed.

Recording on CD "Showdown for Band"
Came across another one that I never had a change to hear:

Other music with solos:
Gustav Holst, First Suite in Eb for Military Band, on Boosey & Hawkes
Broadway Show Stoppers, arranged by Warren Barker, Hal Leonard Pub
(solo in "People" selection)
Other music with 'Solo Clarinet' parts:
My Little Star (Estrellita), by Manuel A Ponce, arr by M L Lake, Carl Fischer
Alla Marcia from Karelia Suite by Jean Sibelius, arr by Richard Franko Goldman. Edward B Marks Music Corp
In a Persian Market, by Albert W Ketelbey. Bosworth & Co. Ltd.
Perpetuum Mobile, by Johann Strauss, arr by Erik WG Leidzen. Carl Fischer
The Dam Busters March by Eric Coates, arr by W J Duthoit. Chappell & Co Ltd
There was one other piece we played in our community band which I can't seem to find. It was a Canadian Folk Song Suite, with a great clarinet solo to a piece called She Sings Like a Swallow. Sorry I don't have the details.
