For some of you younger players out there I thought some of us older guys could key you in on some of the juicey band literature. Some of my favorite band pieces which have (imho) great clarinet parts are: Elsa's procession to the cathedral by Wagner, The Holst suites in F and Eb, most pieces by Grainger and La Belle Hellene. There is one other that is not as difficult by Holsinger titled "On a Hymnsong of Phillip Bliss." I'll stop there for now. Anyway these are worth talking your directors into reading. I hope others will throw in some of thier favorites.

My band played "on a Hymnsong of Philip Bliss" last year in contest and it's an easy but beautiful piece.

The Philip Bliss is from an entire traditional hymn series arranged by David Holsinger if you need a name to tell your band director. They also serve as very good Bach Chorale alternatives for warm ups.

Alfred Reed's arrangement of Greensleeves is a great one. Terrific solo work on both the first and second parts.
