 help with college question

I am currently a student at the university of northern colorado as a saxophone major. I am thinking of moving to a different school to study clarinet. I was wondering if anyone knows some schools that have amazing clarinet teachers regardless of price, location or size. One thing that brought me to UNC is it's outstanding jazz program. A very solid jazz program is also a must. Any help with this problem of mine will be greaty appreciated.

University of North Texas = Best Jazz Program in the US, along with a great concert music university.

I would look right at your own school for a clarinet teacher. Bil Jackson is an Amazing clarinetsit. And he teaches right there at Northern Colorado in Greely. He's also Principal of the Colorado Symphony, and teaches clarinet in the summers for the Aspen Festival.
Why would you be wanting to move from Northern Colorado????? You already have a wonderful teacher there, I'm even toying with the option of Jackson as a teacher. SI there something turning you away from him. He's also a great sax, flute and Oboe player. or at least he was in high school.

IMNSHO, the one school in the US which is far beyond all others in the world of Jazz is, without doubt, the Berklee College of Music in Boston http://www.berklee.edu/ . I do not know the clarinet instructors there, but surely they are not lacking. Do take a look at their website.

You may not want to hear this, but your neighbor right down the road, Colorado State University, has an awesome clarinet/sax teacher!! All rivalries aside, honestly consider it. Our jazz program isn't world-renowned, but it's very solid.

Also, not too far away from you is Brigham Young University. The clarinet teacher there is new and young, but he seems to have lots of good ways of approaching clarineting problems. The jazz program is excellent, the Wind Symphony is extremely good and the Philharmonic Orchestra is top notch.
