I HAVE JUST STARTED TO LEARN A TRIO BY PUDLAK FOR CL, VC & FP. ITS A BIT MODERN BUT VERY INTERESTING. DOES ANYBODY IS THERE A CHART FOR FINGERINGS OF 1/4 TONES. (HALF WAY BETWEEN A SEMI-TONE).

THE PIECE ALSO HAS TRILLS OVER INTERVALS SUCH AS A 3RD AND 4TH, OVER THE BREAK. AGAIN ANY IDEAS.

I WOULD CLASS MAY SELF AS AN ADVANCED CLARINETTEST BUT THIS PIECE IS A LIITLE TRICKY! HELP................

SORRY IF THINGS SOUND STRANGE, I'M FROM THE UK.

As for trilling across the Break, I'm sure you know to use the top side key for Bflat to C and A to B. Also, the second from the top side key for A to B.

For intervals of a third and fourth across the break, you can leave the right hand in position on the holes that it will be playing in the clarion. Then all you have to do is move the fingers of the left hand.

Ron Caravan's book, "Preliminary Exercises & Etudes in Contemporary Techniques for Clarinet" has a chapter on quartertones with 6 etudes to practice them.

It's readily available from Luyben and Eble Music.

I believe that all of the postings above are right on target for your needs. There are lots of fingerings that are not used unless there is a special circumstance, such as an unusual trill. From what I have seen, the commonly available (here in the US) drill books list the common fingerings and the most used trill fingerings. I know that Ridenour's book gives some additional fingerings, especially for the altissimo. However, there are other books available that give a huge list of trill fingerings.

Does someone else have the titles and publishing company names for these advanced trill fingering books?
