Sax mp and reeds

Hello
What is your opinion of the Selmer C* mouthpiece for alto sax? Also do you think Vandoren Java #3 reeds are good on it? If not, what else do you recommend? Thanks

I'd rather a sax BBoard be used for questions so specific to saxophone playing, OK?

The C* is considered a good classical mouthpiece for the alto. I've never used Java reeds on a C*, usually blue box Vandorens or LaVoz.

And you should check out the sax on the web board, at http://boards.eesite.com/board.cgi?boardset=saxweb where this sort of thing gets discussed. While the board was pretty seriously hacked over Thanksgiving weekend, things appear to be up and running again.

Most of the beginner and classic, concert play play C*. I play Soloist C* with Hemke 2 1/2 reed in the concert band. If you're beginner, start from Rico. If you play in the concert band, try Hemke or Vandoren blue box.
