"Artist" clarinet -- eBay joke listing
Author: Todd W.

A smile for the day.

Someone (perhaps a contributor to this BB?) did a nice put on of an instrument listing on eBay.

Here's the address. (I don't know if I can activate it as a link. Help?)

Amazingly enough the link worked!

I forgot to mention that the pictures were horrible (at least on my computer screen), but printing them on the EconoFast setting made them viewable.

I particularly like the cluttered background so often seen in eBay listing photos.

Too bad bidding has ended....
I like the fork taped to the top, but I wish the duct tape was a prettier color.

The listing has been closed, whether by eBay itself or the lister.

Todd, my question would be, "How on earth did you find such a listing? Do you often shop the bizarre catagories?"

Anyway, thanks for the laugh. Some people, like this eBay seller, have too much time on their hands.

eBay says "The seller ended this listing early because the item was lost or broken." What a dreadful setback to the international musical community. Of course, I was sorry the seller had not established a "buy it now" amount so I could have been certain to acquire this masterwork.

By now, Brenda, you should realize that Todd *is* bizarre. It is a feature for which I respect him.

...while you and I, fortunately, have just barely enough. :)

Boy, half a dozen postings and they've got you pegged. Thanks, JMcAulay, for making MY day.

Brenda -- I spend too much time as it is browsing the clarinet category; don't have time for the (online) bizarre. The search word "clarinet" pulled up the listing because it was in the heading and as I was scrolling down, I was intrigued by the full heading, so opened it up. Besides, some of the clarinet category listings get pretty bizarre themselves because of seller ignorance, optimism, or just plain typos. A couple of weeks ago there was a listing for a "Buffet B12 modal clarinet." Just the thing, I guess for playing Coltrane tunes.

Ahhh. Yes, the search does pull up a bit of everything. Kind of like weeding the garden.

Fantastic! its good to see someone out there still has a sense of humor.....It is a joke, isn't it? It reminds me if an old Honda I had. It had so much duct tape holding it together my shipmates called it the "Silver Streak".

All I care about is whether it has undercut tone holes. Does it? --Bill.

Perhaps if u paint it black u will get a darker sound. Brighter sound requires a silver paint on it :p

It comes with many cheap reeds. Nobody knows if they're used reeds, though. (Don't you hate it when something like THAT turns up on Ebay? Used reeds?)
