 RE: Gortex pads

My Bass Clarinet has the Goretex Pads and when my Bb soprano is due for new pads, I will use them as well. I have been most satisfied with the seal and the control. I can whisper out a barely audible low C or blast it, with no leaks. The horn is only two years old, so I have no real evidence of their longevity, but I feel they will be as good as conventional pads. The throat A often gets wet, from the way the horn leans forward in the stand, but the pad shows no sign of fatigue.
