Try them and see if they work for you. Clark is very knowledgeable and makes very high quality mouthpieces.

I played on a superb Vandoren crystal mouthpiece (no longer produced) for almost 30 years - however I needed to try at least 15 - 20 different ones before I found that unique "one of a kind" mouthpiece. The variation among crystal mouthpieces is enormous, ranging from great to downright unplayable.I wouldn't be surprised if the Pomaricos are the same way.

This summer at Clarinetfest I wanted to find a "back up" mouthpiece for my Vandoren crystal just in case the unthinkable accident ever happened. I purchased a Fobes "San Francisco" (Kaspar) facing handcrafted mouthpiece. Clark let me try all the ones he brought until we found just the right one, with the proper "ring" and articulation feel. It is a superb mouthpiece (it has since become my main mouthpiece) and Clark couldn't have been more gracious or helpful.

Being a private teacher, I tried the "Nova" mouthpiece as a possibility to recommend to my students. It is a high quality mouthpiece with a tip opening (I believe) of 0.96mm. It had great intonation and a fine response not usually found in mouthpieces in that price range.

I would recommend trying it in your search for mouthpieces in your price range. Clark is very accessable. Perhaps you should contact him with any questions you may have...GBK

Do give the Pomarico crystal mouthpieces a try -- they are high-quality pieces, but as with any mass-produced mouthpiece, there is a lot of variability between them, so try a whole bunch. And, if you do buy one, for heaven's sake don't drop it!
