Does anyone know where I can find a good priced, new or used, Buffet Greenline R-13 or Festival? I already know about wwandbw and weiner, does anyone know if any of the companies are running specials?

I recomend the International Musical Suppliers! They are the best, I don't care what anyone has to say because Lisa (the owner) is a professional player and picks out all the best horns and is picky with what she gets and they are avalible at great prices. I know for a fact people all around the country go to her store to pick horns out. I know that the buffet festival runs for about $1975 (i called lisa and asked her) and i have heard of a few people on ebay trying to sell them for over 3000 dollars or what sort, you won't find better ones than you would in her store. And if you don't believe me, ask greg smith, i would think that he would feel the same way maybe with a little more objectivity than me. Give IMS a call, the number is 800.762.1116. Even though lisa is the president of the company and is usually very busy, unlike most other store owners/presidents etc. she will take the time to talk to you and make you happy with whatever you are getting or are trying to find.

As I stated in response to an earlier post, about three months ago I bought mine from Peter Spriggs. It included a complete overhaul. Find his site linked here on sneezy. He provides new instruments that include his new pads -- well worth the extra money.
I encourage you to check him out.

I bought my greenline R-13 from Lisa at IMS and ditto on the recommendation. I love it! It's at the Brannens right now having their complete set-up done and I expect it to be even better once I get it back. I can't remember my exact cost on it, but it was about $1,800.00.
It's hard to find a used one because everyone really loves them. I'm using mine as my primary instrument right now because it has such a great tone and is quite responsive.

Does anybody know if it is possible to get an RC greenline in North America?
I have a RC prestige Bb greenline and if I want to match it with an A, I'd love to have another greenline...

Oh! My new Greenline from Peter Spriggs (including the "making it playable" -- I guess we're not using overhaul, as it is a new clarinet) cost $2010 including shipping (there was not dutey from Canada). This was at the same time I got a quote from IMS for $1850 + shipping for one right off the shelf.
Not a bad price considering new pads etc.

Jerry, that sounds like a bargain. I don't know how Mr. Spriggs refinements differ from the Brannens, but it sound like you paid about $125 more (after shipping) for one personally tuned compared to stock which seems pretty reasonable. That's a cheap price for just the repad. What else was done?

I would have to go to his web site to be sure of what all is covered but as I recall, it is similar to what the Brannen's covers. I'm sure that he gets the clarinet at far less than what one might get it retail and that difference is part of his proffit.
I'm almost sure that he puts new cork pads on the upper section and teflon pads on the lower. I believe he removes all keywork, checks all ports, reinstalls keywork and tunes the instrument.
All I know is that when I received it, on the first try, I was able to go all the way to D above the staff for the first time since I started this hobby -- and I had not been above the register change at all in my lessons (only through my own experimenting, to about A, sometimes). What a difference. I wish I could play so I could give you a *real* report. My teacher at the time, Dr. Kevin Cox, who had owned his Brannenized (twice) R13 for 30+ years said, "That's the way it's supposed to play."
What else can I say, but very pleased. I know Brenda is going to be ecstatic when she gets her's back from Brannen.
Now, if I can just learn how to make a smooth fingering thru the throat A and Bb. Better go practice that some more.
