Hi all, I've just started playing the clarinet and encounterd some problems, hope that you people out there can help me...
1)My throat tones sounded very airy especially the B-flat note. The sound is so dispersed and when ever I tried to blow stronger through the clarinet hoping to cover up the airiness, but it got worse! How can I solve this problem? Do my equiments that I 'm using have any effect to my airiness?
Presently, I'm using Morgan RM-15,Pyne string ligature, Buffet RC, 3 1/2 V-12 reeds.
2)Recently I found that the pitch of my clarinet suddenly becomes flatter especially at the throat register. I once remember someone told me not to meddle the main screw on the A key. Why is it so? Does it really cause my clarinet to turn flat?
3)I'm just curious about DEG Accubore Clarinet Bell. Anyone has used it before? Does it really enhances the tone and improves projection?

Don't worry, the throat tones aren't the best notes on the clarinet. I'd say that Bb is the worst, if you use the A key and the register key. You should try using the alternate fingering (A key and the second-to-top side key). It comes out a lot clearer than the other.
Also, since you just started playing, V12 3.5 reeds are most likely too thick for you. If you want to use Vandoren, try the traditional blue box strength 2.5 - 3.

As a beginner I have found that after practicing for a while I get a similar response. I discovered that it is because my mouth tires and the embouchure weakens.
You might follow Benny's suggestion and use a reed of lessor strength.
Also, as stated by Andy and what my teacher has told me, the throat Bb "...is note a happy note...." so you might try an alternate fingering. I was told to also close the left hand middle finger and ring finger while playing the A and Bb.

The little screw on top of the A key does has nothing to do with intonation. I can testify on this one, I fiddled with it a little while ago and Sneezy members bailed me out when I could figure out what was wrong. If you tighten it too much, it forces the G# key up, generally messing things up.
Experiment with a tuner and the throat tones, adding one or more holes can make the notes project better and be more in tune. They're notoriously out of tune and bad sounding, it's not your fault. It sounds like you're doing great.
Don't worry about a new bell to improve your tone just yet. In a few months, if you practice a moderate amount, it'll improve a lot by itself. And do try to find some softer reeds, regular Vandoren 2.5s or maybe Mitchell Lurie 3s. Without so much resistance, you should be able to get a better tone.
