I had a chance to look at the reed wizard. It looks very simple tool but I have questions.
1. There are two reed tables but they are not flat while knife on the carrier is flat. Outside of the table is higher than inside like "V". Why?
2. Do you use this with reed strength measuring tool? How do you know that you don't need to cut the reed more?
3. Why two tables?

Since reed is "^" type, I think I can file one side on "" table and the other side of the reed on "/" table. Am I right? So, this tool is a kind of convenient but expensive REED RUSH!

There is really only one table. You do one side of the reed and move it over to the other side to finish the job.

If this is Ben Armato's machine I think I'm going to buy one. I ran into him at the 2000 Clarfest in Oklahoma and he demonstrated it to me and some coworkers. It was difficult to understand him as he was explaining the mechanics of it (he lost his voice ya know and was talking with a device) but we ran a few new reeds through it and it definitely balanced them out. Could kick myself now, he was knocking off $30.00 on-the-spot from his regular price of $250.00.

You don't need to use a measuring tool. Play test the reed before, and after.

I have one and like it. Mine is the older model with a jeweler's file - newer ones have some kind of industrial carbide cutter. Reed placement top-to-bottom determines how much it cuts, and this will vary by manufacture and by individual reeds. Keep the reed low on the table for the first pair of cuts, play test, and repeat until you get the desired results.
Mr. Armato has been known to give discounts. My mail order happened to arrive on his wedding anniversary, so he knocked $50 off. (No, I can't remember the date.)
