I have found an Imperial 926 with the serial Number 475871, any idea as top how old this may be, I have checked on Sneezy seems proabaly about 10-15 years old?
What is this instrument like generally. I have done a search, not much specifically about it, mainly comparisons to the 1010.

OK. I know little about the 926, but here is what I know.
It is the up market version of the Emperor/Edgware. It has a medium bore, probably 14.9 to 15 mm. It was produced in fairly small numbers by Boosey & Hawkes. It was said to have more reliable tuning than the 1010.
The following points are based on my knowledge of the Emperor, but may not translate across to the 926 if there were refinements such as undercut tone holes on the more expensive version: The sound is very direct and perhaps a little inflexible. It is very suitable for band use. It could work well in an orchestra, but the player may have to work hard to create fluidity and expression. It could sound rather "square" with chamber music.
For all this, it was an underated instrument which found favour with those who thought the 1010 had too many faults. If you like it, play it. Particularly if you like an immediate sort of sound, and to play incisive, percussive styles of music with self assurance.

I've found a surprising amount of uniformity among the B&H models --- I recently restored a 1010 (the 'top of the line') and found it almost identical in bore, playing qualities, and keywork to the Edgwares ('the 'bottom of the line') with the only noticeable difference being the design of the tenon trim rings, and the ornate design of the bell. And the Stratford model I just finished restoring seems identical to the Edgware in every way except for it having the more ornate 1010-style bell with a thick, metal-ring-less rim. I wonder if there were any real differences, or was it all just brand marketing and esthetics?
