 My Clarinet sounds "windy"
Author: Linda
Date:   2001-10-20 23:54

During the last several days, I have found my R13 to sound like I am playing through a wind tunnel. too airy a sound. I have not changed equipment, still using a Fobes 2m* mouthpiece, Pyne string ligature, V12 3.5 reeds. Any suggestions?
Maybe my reeds are not wet enough, or too wet?

I have been playing around with reeds this week and I had a similar problem with one of the reeds.

So far I have just set it aside since I have not mastered the fine art of reed manipulation.

Try another reed.

It's interesting that the sound just started in the last few days. You may have a pad leaking or a tone hole (possibly register key) partially blocked. Check it out really closely.

Does it happen with all your reeds?
