do you think these can help players? liek when they're really tired after already playing 5-6 concerts and they have to play something lively.

Might make you burp, and what would happen to your embouchure then?

Energy drinks are a big conspiracy. I doubt they do squat. It could make your reed turn another color though, if it is a colored one, and that's kinda cool.

Recently, I started drinking "Energy Drinks" in particular Red Bull. As many people on this BBoard do, I work a fairly stressful job during the day, managing an office for a small software company. I have found that Red Bull will give you a boost, particularly in the morning. Most of the drinks contain vitamin B12 and others, and some other type of stimulant, like taurine, or guarana in addition to caffiene. Whether real or imagined, I do feel more awake and prepared to deal with stressful situations on mornings after having a drink. I definitely would not have one after dinner, as sleep would be out of the question. Whether this is good for a clarinetist facing the stress of a performance would probably be an individual choice

What does the stuff taste like? I really hate those medicinal things.

I used to take Ginko before rehearsal to help sharpen my thinking. It worked, but really messed up my stomach--in fact led to my having to have some pretty serious stuff done--so I don't recommend Ginko or Ginseng or things of that nature.
But, a good drink--well there's another thing.
