After having studied and learned the Rhapsody i have taken some time away from the piece and i'm revisiting and i find that it's fresher and areas that were difficult for me before aren't nearly as difficult... I love revisiting works... This post is pretty random and just got me thinking... are there any pieces out their that you've revisited that you find have characteristics of a fine wine, it only gets better with age?

I don't find your post rambling at all, Keil. I like revisiting the old pieces too. They're like old friends; you never get tired of them. Though they may be a little difficult at times, there's a lot to reminsce over and you're comfortable with them.

It seems our feelings and tastes are changing generally to better direction.

It is good to revisit music after a long break.
When I was in HS and did the 3rd mov't of the Mozart Concerto for music contest, I thought I knew all about it then. Six years later in my senior recital, in relearning and playing that music, I was certainly surprised at how much deeper the meaning was that I tried to give my audience.
Revisiting music helps you know how you have grown musically. Never say you don't have to play it again.
