 reed strength to Yamaha 4C

Anybody knows the ideal reed strenght (vandoren reeds) to go with the Yamaha mouthpiece 4C? I´ve been playing for about a year and at the moment I´m using #2.5 and don´t know whether to use even stronger reeds. Does it sound better (providing you can blow it without effort...) the harder the reed?

I havbe the same type of mouthpiece and use a #3, but #2.5 works just as well. Thinner reeds don't give as good a sound on this mouthpiece.

I use a Mitchell Lurie #3.5 or 4 on my 4C, which works well for me. I guess that more or less equals a Vandoren #3-3.5.
