I'm soo mad. My hs marching band ALWAYS marches in the NYC Columbus Day Parade.. it's a tri-state competition ; we always place in the top 5. Anyways, It's my senior year and we're not allowed to go. I know I've always complainted about marching band etc.. but I really wanted to go ! It's my last year and as much as I hate the parade.. I love it so much. It's soo wonderful. I hate how much our lives have changed.. Oh well.. There's nothing I can do about it.. but thanks for letting me vent.
~ Laurie.. a very dissappinted marching band member.

Laurie--maybe tomorrow we will have a better world without the horror that took place in your city a life time ago.

I sympathize, Laurie. I would guess that some adult or group of adults in decision-making positions is overreacting to recent events. They don't realize that one of the ways we can fight terrorism is to go about our lives the way we normally do and not be victims of fear. If you don't have school today, maybe you can attend the parade and cheer on the marching bands that are participating.

thats a bummer...but as much fun as everyone says high school marching band can be (even though i HATED mine), college marching band is a million times better. I'm in the U of Iowa Hawkeye Marching Band, and it's awesome. Try marching band your first year of college, its awesome and completely unlike high school......(although I wouldn't advise you to march clarinet....clarinets and pics are the butts of all the jokes of the band...play alto sax, like me :o). Its awesome, the sax section has so much fun..here anyway :o) Humor me on this one :o)
