Does anyone know of a really good early music site? I need a lot of detail on gregorian chant and early polyphony.

I don't know of any, but when I am looking for something and don't know where to find it, I usually start out by opening a search engine (msn, yahoo, google, whatever...) and typing what I'm looking for (eg.: Gregorian chant) into the search window.
Sometimes I get nothing and try another one, sometimes I get much more than I bargained for and have to look over a bunch before I settle on one, but it often works out well.

Here's one to get you started. It's focus is mainly recorder, but follow links and you'll get all sort of stuff....

Why don't you use books. Remember them - paper pages with a front and back cover?
I think you're going to get better detail on chant and polyphony there than anywhere on the net. What's more, if you need to do proper research, as in a university assignment, internet sites prove very difficult to source. How will you know the writer has any sort of authority?
Apologies if this is old news to you, and the best of luck!

Start with Groves, available on-line for a (high) subscription, but free in the reference room of most libraries of any size.
