Ok... according to all the serial number charts, buffet wasn't up to 500000 by 1997. Here is my concern. My E-11 has a serial number of 602796. THIS DOESN'T SEEM LOGICAL! they don't make that many a year to go up 100000 in 3 or less years! is my clarinet fake or somthing? I bought it used last year!
Worried

There are NO SERIAL NUMBER LISTS for BUFFET E-11's. You were looking at a list that tracks Buffet R-13 Clarinets.
best,

Ted,
I'm afraid you've been had. This sounds like one of the Chinese made counterfeits that flooded the market a few years ago -- total junk!
;^)
Just kidding. You were looking in the wrong place on the serial number finder. The E11 is a Buffet student model, not a soprano. While I cannot rule out the possibility that the numbers in the "Student Model" lookup on the Boosey site are for the B12, on at least three occasions where I had outside information on the manufacture date of an E11, the list has dated the instrument accurately. According to the list, 602796 was made in 1997. (BTW, FWIW, according to the list, 700000 comes from "recent production.") Methinks you worry too much.
Best regards,
jnk

Sorry that I didn't answer your I M, Ted. The above people/posts know much more than I about Buffet intermediate/student serial #'s. Mark, I noticed my previous two posts didn't make it, this time I added my name and E M to the blanks below. ?Do I have problems, TOO? Don
