 OLD METAL CONN CLARINET
Author: Roger Harvey
Date:   1999-01-30 11:59

Amongst his collection of clarinets my teacher has a metal Conn which he is very fond of, and uses regularly in his jazz band. The details are as follows:-

C.G. Conn Ltd, Elkart, Indiana.
Bb, Boehm system metal clarinet.
S/N: 514 N - B - 313746 - L

It has a metal tuning barrel.

Any info on age, etc.,would be very welcome.

Many thanks,

Roger Harvey

Based on serial number, it appears to be made around 1945.
I am guessing that the 514 - N part is a a model number.

I bought one on eBay last year for about $160. Mine is older and not working, yet.
