eBay rating 17 positives, 1 neutral, and 5 negatives is a sure danger signal, and no picture. How could someone send this seller $2.8K?

Yep, a real stinker. I'd definitely go to tradenable escrow for this transaction
By the way, does Bohr oil have special quantum mechanichal qualitites that make it desirable?
David, what does eBay say when you report this to them?

Here's a quick rundown on Bohr oil, without getting deeply into the Schroedinger considerations:
Bohr oil, when first developed, was considered by those really In The Know to be the best model available. The contemporary Heisenberg oil, on the other hand, was found principally uncertain by most evaluators. Others were then available, but please understand my reluctance to waste additional bandwidth....
Hope this helps.
Regards,
John

If you're looking for a genuine, real great Buffet Festival from a dependable eBay seller---contact me. Mine is running on eBay right now and I'm an honest person and this is the real deal. I also have references from other "Sneezies" who have bought new instruments from me. (I'm also a Sneezy sponsor).

Oh, my serial no. on my Festival is 476876. And, I saw the ad for the Festival mentioned by David and I agree it's suspicious.

Lack of a digital photo is not a precursor to fraud or unsuccessful activity for buyers or sellers. Lots of NICE people don't have the means, understand the technology, or have the equipment. DSFDF. mw

For some unknown reason the auction ended early, with no bids.

Whoops!!! There was a reason given - due to an error in the minimum bid amount.

Well, whatever. Hopefully he won't steal my photo like the last time I ran an R-13 for sale. Just keep a check up on this seller's stuff. He could be legit. who knows?

Maybe it was really the 'Bohr" oil that killed Schroedinger's cat.

Egads...this guy is in my town and I have no idea who or what he is. I thought I knew every clarinet and player here, but something is certainly not right.

When there are this many questions about someone, I find it's better to skip their stuff.

I just clicked on this seller's "other ads" on ebay, and he has relisted this as eBay 1464982383 and he now lists his address as Chicago. Anyone who lists a clarinet with sterling silver keys doesn't know what he's doing. And look at the pictures; my photo darkroom has more light in it!

Is this teh SAME clarinet that was being offered before? How did the serial number change? The bids now start at $1 and the reserve is dropped 1K???? This guy is NOT someone I would do business with. (sorry -- don't know how to make the link "clickable")

Buyer Beware! That's all I have to say about this guy.
I wouldn't buy a clarinet with those photos either. You can just barely make out the silver circle that "supposedly" says Festival above the A key, but it's not distinctive enough to make me want to buy it.

I'm very suspicious of someone who lowers his reserve that much. Maybe it was an honest mistake and he's selling it for a friend or something and didn't know the value of the instrument--or maybe he justs wants a fast buck.
He has several negatives. That's not good.

In my opinion it's not the negatives so much as the *kinds* of negatives. This seller is risky at best. Personally, I wouldn't take the chance :|

who would want to buy a clarinet without playing it first? i don't really care what model it is, do you guys have the option of sending it back if you don't like it? it seems like a really dumb way to buy a musical instrument.

I always offer a money-back guarantee. I've never had to take one back yet because I try to have everything perfectly set-up before shipping it out. But, I agree that one needs to buy from someone who will back up their sales. Most musicians understand that. But, some people who are only in it for money aren't that easy to work with. It depends upon how you want to do business. If you think you're getting a good deal without a money-back guarantee and you trust the seller--go for it. If you want to buy from someone who will allow you to returne something--look for them. There are fewer of us, but most people who buy high-dollar clarinets are descriminating musicians who take care of the instrument and are understanding about getting it back quickly without damage if they don't like it.
I do what I do because I enjoy it. It's a hobby--not a business. I usually end up breaking even and making some great friends!
